At its heart, the practice of information security can be sorted into two major categories: visibility and control. To build the best security strategy must begin with a deep understanding of what activity is on your network, what users are accessing critical data, and what likely or severe risks should be prioritized. With visibility and proper analysis of the data gathered, admins are prepared to design policy and processes to reduce those risks. But with nearly unlimited data to process and limited resources to build a response plan, how do you determine those priorities?
Join data scientists Maggie Engler and Stefano Meschiari from Duo Security for this educational session on how to avoid common pitfalls and biases for smarter threat analysis. If you want to leverage the data you're already gathering more effectively, you won't want to miss out!
Maggie is a Data Scientist at Duo Security as part of the Duo Labs team. Prior to Duo, Maggie worked for various security organizations in both the private and public sector, most recently at a cyber risk startup in the Bay Area. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
Stefano Meschiari is a Technical Lead for the Data Science team at Duo, where he focuses on researching and developing systems for machine learning in cybersecurity. Previously, he worked as an astrophysicist and developed software for scientific education.
