How Duo Is Legitimizing Modern Authentication for Government

In this webinar, you will learn:

  • How Duo is working to legitimize standards for cloud-ready, scalable, and modern authenticators for the federal space
  • What progress has been made on the certification hurdles Duo must meet for FEDRAMP compliance, and what’s left
  • How to be ready to launch your project when Duo gets the green light

HSPD12 is Dead - Long Live HSPD12

Nearly 15 years ago, Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD12) was released, outlining a common authentication standard for all federal employees and contractors. While the CAC- and PIV-focused solutions that resulted from that policy performed satisfactorily, more flexible and robust tools emerged over the following years. But even a year after updated NIST standards in 800-63 recommended more modern authentication protocols, progress to adopt newer tools and methods has been slow.

Now, 2019 is shaping up to be the year of modern authentication for the federal space, with updates to HSPD12 finally incorporating the authentication recommendations of NIST 800-63. And with Duo’s recent FedRAMP status update to In Progress, Duo is ready to lead the charge helping agencies update.

Join Micah Wilson and San Buonassisi to learn what progress we’ve made this year, and what you can look forward to in the new year.
