FTC Taps Expertise of Duo CTO for June 4 Forum on Mobile Security
The Federal Trade Commission is enlisting the help of tech researchers, academics and industry leaders, including Duo CTO Jon Oberheide, to take part in a June 4 forum on “Mobile Security: Potential Threats and Solutions.” As the use of mobile technology increases at a rapid rate and consumers take advantage of the technology’s benefits in large numbers, this forum is designed to address potential threats that exist today, as well as those that may emerge in the future. Panelists will educate the Commission about the current mobile security environment and facilitate an exploration of potential challenges that may arise as consumer use of mobile technology continues to grow.
One of the nation’s leading experts in the field of mobile security, Jon will be sitting on a panel on “Extending Security Throughout the Mobile Ecosystem” alongside Alex Gantman, Vice President of Corporate Product Security for Qualcomm, John Marinho, Vice President of Cybersecurity & Technology at CTIA and Alex Rice, Head of Product Security for Facebook.
You can attend in person at the FTC conference Center at 601 New Jersey Avenue NW in Washington DC. If you can’t make it to the District, you can view the forum via webcast on June 4. The forum is free and open to the public, and no pre-registration is required. Registration begins at 8:30 am, and the forum runs from 9am - 5 pm.
