Use the AI Assistant
Navigation

The AI Assistant can be launched from the header of the Duo Admin Panel from any page.
Each administrator who opens the AI Assistant will need to complete the onboarding flow covering privacy information and tips to work with the AI Assistant. By design, conversations in the AI Assistant are secure and private.

Step 3:
Once onboarding is complete, the home screen of the AI Assistant shows several suggested questions or users can enter their own prompt in the field below.

In the upper right corner, you can use the menu to change the view between a floating window or full screen. You can also start a new conversation thread at any time with the pencil icon.

On the left side of the window, you can open and close a menu to access your previous conversations.

When you receive a response from the AI Assistant, you can provide feedback on the response with the thumbs up and thumbs down icons. This feedback is continuously reviewed to improve the AI Assistant.

You can also copy individual responses from the AI Assistant to share with others. If copying a table, please ensure to use a Markdown rendering tool so that the data is formatted appropriately.
Troubleshoot User Access Issues
The AI Assistant can query various logs and user information to help understand user access issues. It cannot currently make changes to your account. The AI Assistant has access to:
- Authentication logs
- Activity logs
- Group information
- User device information
When a user has been denied access in the past 48 hours, administrators will see a banner on that user's page to start troubleshooting with the AI Assistant.

The AI Assistant will provide a summary of what happened along with the relevant data such as authentication logs, group membership info, or policy info.

You can also ask other questions related to user access such as:
- Which users are having access issues?
- Show me username’s devices.
- Show me recent admin activity.
- Which devices have recently been registered?
- Who is in a group?
If the AI Assistant does not have access to the data requested, it will inform you that it does not yet have that ability.
Setup and Configuration Questions
The AI Assistant references Duo documentation and Knowledge Base articles to help guide setup and troubleshooting questions.
Example Questions:
- How do I protect a cloud application?
- When should I use global policy vs an application policy?
- How should I enroll new users to Duo?
- How do I configure an authentication proxy?
- How do remembered devices work?
- What is verified push?
- What risk factors cause an authentication to be stepped up?
When using the AI Assistant, remember to use clear language, provide feedback, and verify information.
